Two months before an important social audit by a large American retailer, our client from the USA asked us to prepare their factory in An Hui province, He Fei city for an SA8000 Audit. The process is written below.
We visited the factory in June of 2012, and performed an initial audit of the factory. (Download file Initial Audit)
The shortcomings we written out clearly in a corrective action plan and the next 5 days were spent at the factory helping them make changes. ( Download file CAP1)
After the trainer left, some additional changes were made by the factory.
We stayed in close communication with the factory telling them how to make correction and seeing when we should go back for additional training.
After they had made the changes we performed another audit of the factory and checked to see if all required changes had been made. (Download file Second Audit)
As some of the changes had not been made, so we wrote another corrective action plan and we spent 3 additional days at the factory to help them make required changes. (Download file CAP2)
During these three days we also trained management and workers how to follow the new system in their everyday working environment.
The day that the ITS auditor came to the factory our trainer was also onsite to make sure everything went smoothly.
The factory passed the audit without any problem just receiving 1 minor comment from the auditor.
The factory and customer continued working together on a long term basis.
